River Bend Nature Center (RBNC) in Wichita Falls, Texas is a twenty acre environmental education facility that serves the communities of north Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Uniquely placed in a conflux of geographical regions, River Bend connects people to their natural environment through educational activities, environmental awareness, and conservation examples. RBNC recognizes that education is a fundamental tool for preserving the environmental and the personal health of a community.
The Wichita Theatre & Opera House, a designated Texas Historic Landmark, built in 1908…was originally a vaudeville house then a movie theater from 1939-1979…and now it’s a non-profit organization, offering family entertainment…live on stage!
The Kemp serves as a “place we can call home” to over forty different area arts organizations, offering meeting places, exhibition venues and providing organizational support, such as utilizing the mailing and copying facilities. Groups can also request assistance from the Kemp’s professional staff for guidance and counsel for their organizations.
Backdoor Theatre is a non-profit community theatre that has a reputation for quality productions, special “Band Night” series and much more. They have two stages (Main Stage and Dinner Stage) which have produced over 600 productions and concerts. They have also been twice named Texas Champion in the American Association of Community Theatres, in 1995-1996 and 2001-2002.
